Bio
Starting his career in the basement of his home at age 15, Tampa, Florida’s JJ PAOLINO has come a long way as a singer, songwriter, and a performer. His sound is reminiscent of established voices such as that of John Mayer, Dave Mathews, and Jason Mraz, but his vision is more cutting edge, admittedly finding influence in a new generation of singer/songwriters such as Matt Wertz, Stephen Kellogg, and Rob Blackledge. As a songwriter, JJ crafts irresistible melodies over simple yet precise acoustic guitar textures, and his lyrics have an immediate appeal, resting comfortably within his well-conceived arrangements. The result is a sound that catches your ear and simply will not let go. Still young in his career, JJ is already making his mark on the local scene. He has opened for such bands as Yellowcard and The Trews. A first place finish at the University of Tampa “Battle of the Bands” as well as the “People’s Choice Award” is a testament to his appeal, and he is already a favorite at clubs in both Tampa and his home state, Rhode Island.
